Where is this scene from?
Paste a Reel, Short, or TikTok — or drop a file. Video Origin samples a few frames and names the movie, show, music video, or original clip behind the scene.
Any clip. One question.
Sign in with Google or Apple, spend one check, and get a title with confidence and the visual evidence behind it.
Paste a public link
YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. If a site blocks the download, upload the clip instead.
Or drop a file
MP4, MOV, or WebM, up to 100 MB, from your gallery or files. The same identification either way.
Pick the moment
On longer videos, choose the stretch that actually contains the scene before the check runs.
A few frames are enough
Video Origin samples 3–5 stills, identifies from those frames, then deletes the video. Nothing of the file stays on the server.
See the source
A title, year, type, confidence score, a short explanation, visual evidence, and other possibilities.
History stays here
Identifications are saved on this device. Clear them anytime in Settings. The server does not keep your results.
What it tries to name
OpenAI vision reads the sampled frames and returns a structured guess — including when it is not sure.
The same question, wherever you are
iPhone, the web, and Telegram. English, Spanish, Hindi, and Chinese.
The clip does not stay
Videos are held only long enough to sample frames. Identifications stay on your device. Your account is the sign-in and the checks.
Deleted after analysis
Uploaded and downloaded videos live in temporary storage and are removed as soon as the identification finishes.
Frames, not the file
A handful of stills are sent to OpenAI vision to name the source. The video file itself is not stored.
You stay in control
History is local. Sign in with Google or Apple, and buy more checks in the app when the free ones run out.
For the clip you almost recognized
A short video, a familiar face, and no title in the caption.
“I paste the Reel, pick the few seconds with the scene, and get a title with a confidence number instead of another guess.”
“Uploading works when the link will not download. The video is gone after the check, and the result stays on my phone.”
“Five free checks were enough to see if it actually knew the show. The alternatives matter when the frames are ambiguous.”
Name the scene.
Video Origin runs on iPhone, on the web, and as a Telegram Mini App. New accounts start with five free checks.
